There are still good people in this world. Earlier this week I was scrolling through Facebook when I came across a video of a student with disabilities that I used to go to high school with, his name is Austin. This video was posted by a staff member, Lisa, that works with Austin everyday. Everyone that knows Austin loves him. He never walks the halls without speaking to everyone and giving them a smile. In the video you see Lisa and her son telling Austin that with the help from the lunch ladies, she is taking him to watch WWE wrestling. Immediately Austin burst into tears and begins to thank and hug them. That alone touched my heart but then a couple hours later I saw that hundreds of people were touched by his video and that LEX18 had even done a news segment on him! Several of the people that know Austin and love him had the idea of pitching in and gathering some money that Austin could take with him so that he could buy some souvenirs to bring home with him. The number of people that were reaching out was amazing! As I was scrolling again that night my heart was just so full that there were so many people that wanted to donate so that this special boy could have a night he could remember. The Netflix Original “You” is incredibly popular. For the past few weeks now I have been seeing A LOT of my friends and family talking about their obsession with the show “You”. So, I caved in and started watching it on Netflix to see what all the talk was about. The show is about a character, Joe, that falls in love way to fast and gives an inside look at his crazy life. Even though to everyone around him he seems normal, Joe does what ever he thinks is best for the girl he loves, even if that means kill. Just like everyone else on my social media I got addicted and binge watched the two seasons in 3 days. After finishing the show I began to think to myself how many people I know in my life that are like Joe that portray to be completely normal?
Grey’s Anatomy Fans are upset. I also learned this week that the community of people that truly believe that they are surgeons and doctors but really are just addicted to watching Grey’s anatomy are really upset about some news that was just released. Last week it was announced that Justin Chambers, who plays Alex Karev, would be staring in his last episode on the show. As a popularly handsome character many of the fans were devastated when they heard the news. I cant say I was because I do not watch the show but I will miss seeing pictures of him in his scrub outfits.
BlendJet. The next thing I saw this week that caught my attention was the BlendJet. This is a small on the go blender that is also a bottle. This little gadget is portable and can be charged with any USB outlet, which makes it perfect for on the go. I heard about this on a Facebook Ad and on a radio add on Pandora. I probably wouldn’t have much use for it considering I don’t drink smoothies or protein shakes but if I was healthy I think this would be very handy! The fires in Australia. The last thing I saw in the media this week was so devastating. I first heard about it on Twitter while I was scrolling through my feed I saw a picture that was of nothing but flames. You couldn’t see anything else, and my heart immediately broke. I later heard about it on the news where there was footage of animals that people were saving from the fires. This was terrible news to hear but I was thankful for the media that spread the message so others could help and pray for Australia.
